As we grow older we may begin to lose the natural firmness and plumpness of our skin and lips.

This is a natural part of ageing and is part of the reason we develop wrinkles and lines. Dermal fillers give immediate, natural and long-lasting results by gently restoring this lost volume with 'like-for-like’ hyaluronic gel, the substance found naturally in our skin. In the hands of a qualified practitioner they are a safe and natural way to soften deep lines, and replace volume into the facial contours creating a more youthful appearance.

Areas on the face such as the nose to mouth lines or the marionette lines (the downward lines from the corner of the mouth) can be treated individually with amazing results.

Dermal Fillers are a Perfect Choice for both women & men seeking…

  • Immediate visible results
  • Lifting of jowls, cheeks, nasolabial & marionettes
  • Volume and shape to lips
  • Skin revitalisation & firmness through natural collagen stimulation
  • Reshaping & contouring of cheeks
  • Natural & fresh looks
  • Long-lasting effects
  • Cost effective treatment

Before & Afters

Before your lip or dermal filler treatment, we will undertake a consultation. We will talk about your skin, your medical history and what you would like to achieve from your session. This can be done over the phone, face to face or on the same day as your treatment.

For your comfort a local anaesthetic cream can be applied before commencing the lip filler or dermal filler procedure.

Fillers will be injected using a very very fine needle, this increases comfort and makes the treatment safer. Generally clients are looking for natural volume, rather than an "over done" look - natural is always what we aim for

Simple aftercare is explained, and you will be given information to take away.

You will likley have some puffiness immediately after your treatment - this is normal and to be expected.

Enjoy Your Results!! Your fillers will settle over the days and weeks, and you can enjoy your results for 6-12 months

Lip & Dermal Fillers FAQ

What Are Lip or Dermal Fillers?

Fillers are a treatment that can enhance the appearance of your lips, or your face. Defining features, plumping fine lines, or adding volume. Each treatment is tailored to individual requirements.

How do they Work?

Our fillers hydrate and revitalise the lip or dermal area, so they don’t just bulk them out, they add hydration too. This is because Hyaluronic Acid is capable of holding up to 1000 times its own weight in water – making a brilliant hydrator. Good quality hyaluronic acid fillers are used - hyaluronic acid is not a toxin, it is produced naturally by our bodies, is accepted easily, and broken down naturally over the months after the treatment.

What Are The Effects?

As we age, we do not produce so much oestrogen. This has an effect on the fullness and volume of our skin, and our lips. Some of us have naturally slimmer lips, and are looking for an enhancement. By using small amounts of filler we can increase volume, look and hydration.

Will They Look Natural?

Yes, absolutely. Awards have been won for our natural looking treatments. The expert techniques used will insure natural looking results.

How Long Do Lip Fillers Last?

The exact duration will vary from person to person since everyone is different. However, you can expect a duration of 6 to 12 months.

You will be able to see immediate results, as our lip filler treatments provide an instant effect – however, you will see even better results as the HA settles and integrates with your facial tissue. You can also amend the look and alter it over time, as HA fillers are not permanent.

Do Lip Filler Treatments Hurt?

You will have an anesthetic cream applied prior to your session to ensure your comfort - our advanced range of fillers contain lidocaine, so the treated area will be numbed, leading to a more comfortable procedure.

This area will swell up a little, however, and you may see some bruising (which should go away after a few days). Due to this, you may want to schedule your procedure ahead of time if you’re looking to undergo it for a special occasion, as there may be some downtime.

What Filler Do You Use?

I use a range of high end, well known fillers. All certified and CE marked for specific use. Should you be looking for a particular kind, please let me know and I can order this in before your treatment, or we can explore the advantages of other brands that may suit you better.

How Many ml Do You Use?

For lips, it is safest to go upto 1ml on your first session. However, I often say to focus on the look that you are wanting to achieve rather than precscribing an actual amount of product, as amounts used can vary widely depending on the look required, and the natural shape of the area we are treating.

What are the potential complications?

Fortunately, complications are rare. But they can and do happen even in the best of hands. Alice has undertaken complications training, so you will be in good hands should complications happen. Products to dissolve filler, and adrenaline are kept onsite should they be needed in an emergency.

Common: Bruising, swelling, asymmetry, lumps

Uncommon: Skin damage, Vascular occulsion, tissue necrosis, anaphylaxis

More details about this will be given during your consultation process.

Pre-Treatment & Aftercare Advice

Pre-Treatment Advice - What To Do, & What To Avoid, Before Your Fillers Treatment

In order to reduce the amount of bruising and/or swelling from the injection sites, please follow the instructions below.

Avoid blood thinning over-the-counter medications such as Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, and Aleve for 1 week prior. Please consult your GP if you are taking Aspirin for medical reasons!

Avoid supplements including St. Johns Wort, ginko biloba, primrose oil, garlic, ginseng, and Vitamin E for 1 week, Omega 3 oils

Avoid topical products such as Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinols, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, or any prescribed "Anti-Aging" products for 3 days prior

Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or hair removal cream on the area to be treated for 3 days prior

Do not drink alcoholic beverages for 24 hours prior to treatment

If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another eruption of cold sores. You can take antiviral medication prior to treatment to lessen the chances of this.

Do not use dermal fillers if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to any ingredients, or suffer from neurological disorders. Please inform us if you have any questions about this prior to your treatment

Day of Treatment

Ideally, arrive with a "clean face" - washed and without makeup.

In order to maximize your comfort during the procedure, a topical anesthetic cream may be applied.

Within the First Hour of Treatment

Immediately after the treatment, there may be redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness, and/or itching near the injection site. Avoid itching , massaging, or touching the injection site. This is normal and generally disappears within a few hours to a few days.

If these symptoms last more than 3 days, please contact me.

You may take painkillers to reduce any pain as necessary

Within 6 to 10 Hours of Treatment

Avoid drinking alcohol or partaking in strenuous exercise, as it may result in additional bruising.

Until the swelling and redness have resolved, avoid intense heat in the treated area(s). This includes sunbathing, tanning, saunas, hot tubs, or hot wax. Also avoid extreme cold such as skiing or other winter sports.

To help alleviate bruising, we recommend the topical application of Arnica - a natural ointment commonly used to reduce bruising. You can find this in the natural foods section of your grocery store, or at local pharmacies.

Minimize movement of the treated area(s).

Sunscreen and makeup can be applied, and the area can be gently washed with a gentle cleanser.

Additional Dermal Filler Aftercare Recommendations

For most patients, the benefits of dermal fillers can be enhanced by using a medical-grade skincare system, such as Alumier MD. Products containing Vitamin-C can strengthen the skin and improve laxity and texture. Personal recommendations can be suggested for you.

Swelling and bruising are a normal and expected part of the process.
